Tucson tidbits

In Canada, the equivalent of a Dunkin’ Donuts Muchkin (or donut hole) was the Tim Horton’s Timbit. It’s only now, many years later while writing this that I realize the naming of the Canadian donut hole could have been a nod to “tidbit”. Google / Oxford Language define tidbits as “small pieces of tasty food” or a “small and particularly interesting items of gossip or information”.

Canada and their genius aside, we are here to talk Tucson. And the time I spent there, I spent in awe of its balance of nature, stucco, and small-town-pizazz.

The town had a heartbeat. A particular point of view. A unassuming statement on its unique place in the world.

And I loved what it had to say. Waving Saguaros greeted you. Mountains squeezed you close. Graveyards of war planes rested.

It had a wholly understated splendor borne from Tucson being entirely itself. And to that, I applaud the tight-knit community.
